Get to know Anthony!

Antonius Jr., better known as “Anthony, Tonny or Ton” was born in Sint Maarten, where he lived for less than a year before moving with his parents to Aruba. Under the guidance of his grandfather Theo Schouten, who played the piano and organ in Church,” Anthony excelled at singing. Anthony later went on to study with respected teacher and local musician Maybelline Arends-Croes and within her choir “Tutti Frutti” which has been a red thread in Anthony’s life and she is his mentor to this day. Under her tutelage, he won many national and international awards. Anthony lived in different cities in the Netherlands while studying. However, his heart belonged to his island, and he moved back to Aruba to work in the tourism industry and contribute to Aruba’s important economic pillar. Anthony’s goal in joining the political sphere is to make a difference in his community, especially in the sector of labor, making sure Aruba’s employees and employers have fair and ethical treatment. Anthony’s words to live by are: “Live, love, learn, grow, share and repeat.”.
